packaging

Our Maleic Anhydride Grafted (MAH) materials derived from various polyolefins, are specifically designed for diverse packaging applications. By adjusting grafting levels, rheology, and the specific type of polyolefin used, we can cater to a wide range of functionalities and processing techniques such as extrusion coating & lamination, blown extrusion, cast extrusion, blow moulding and more.

Zebond ™ effectively addresses adhesion challenges encountered when combining standard polymers such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) with chemically distinct materials like paper, aluminium foil, and specialty polymers including nylon, polyester, and EVOH. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in the co-extrusion process of multiple polymers into single multilayer films, which has revolutionized flexible packaging solutions. These materials are vital in packaging due to their mechanical strength and barrier properties. They also function as tie layer resins that can limit the transmission of oxygen, flavours, and odours, thereby enhancing gas and moisture barrier capabilities in packaging applications.

Applications

  • Flexible Packaging
  • Rigid Packaging
  • Hot Melt Adhesives

Automotive & Consumer Goods

The Zebond ™ series comprises of Maleic Anhydride (MAH) and Glycidyl Methacrylate (GMA) Grafted materials formulated from various polyolefins. This range includes coupling agents, compatibilizers, and impact modifiers from ZEVIS ™, designed to enhance the properties of compounds. These additives are widely utilized in the production of materials for automotive applications, white goods, and the wire and cable sectors.

Our coupling agents are particularly effective for glass or mineral-filled polymer matrices such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polycarbonate (PC), and nylon. Enhanced adhesion leads to better mechanical and thermal properties in the final compound, making them ideal for applications like PP-glass filled compounds, ABS or SAN-glass filled compounds, nylon-glass filled compounds, and halogen-free flame-retardant (HFFR) compounds.

Additionally, under the Zebond ™ brand, we provide impact modifiers specifically for reprocessed polymers. When polymers are recycled, they often experience a reduction in impact strength, which can become a significant concern compared to other mechanical properties that may still meet application standards. To restore the impact strength of both filled and unfilled polymers used in injection moulding or extrusion processes, it is essential to blend them with appropriate impact modifiers. This blending is typically performed using a twin-screw extruder. Our impact modifiers find application in reprocessed polymers including polycarbonates, polypropylene, nylons, and PBT.

Applications

  • Automotive Thermoplastic Compounds
  • HFFR Cables
  • Adhesive Films
  • Electrical & Electronic Components, Household Appliances

Construction & Coatings

The Zebond ™ series due to its enhanced functionality finds it use in construction and coatings applications as well. They are used as adhesive coatings, adhesive films and tie layer resin depending upon their base polymer and the functionality added.

Zebond ™ effectively addresses adhesion challenges encountered when coating steel pipes with top coats and also plays a crucial role in the co-extrusion process of multiple polymers into single multilayer structures or simply used in the production of adhesive films for these applications.

Applications

  • HFFR Cables
  • Aluminium Panels
  • Construction Membranes
  • Pipes & Tubes
  • Geotextile Membranes

Electrical & Electronics

Our compatibilizers are designed to enhance interfacial adhesion between pairs of immiscible polymers. By being compatible with one phase, these molecules concentrate at the interface, stabilizing it and promoting finer dispersion of incompatible pairs. They are extensively used in the production of polymer alloys such as PC/ABS, PC/PBT, ABS/PC, ABS/PBT, and PP/Nylon. Additionally, they also improve the bonding between polymer matrix and minerals during the production of HFFR compounds.

Our impact modifiers under the brand name Zebond ™, help in upcycling of engineering polymers making them suitable for electrical and electronics applications.

Applications

  • HFFR Cables
  • Lighting & Fixtures
  • Electric and Electronic Accessories

Recycling

Under Zebond™ we manufacture highly functional polyolefin-based impact modifiers, coupling agents, compatibilizers and flow promoters which help in the upcycling of commodity and engineering plastics.

With a vast number of permutations and combinations of base resin and functionality introduced all types of plastic waste can be recycled like PP, PE, Nylon, PC, PBT, PET, Multilayer Film Scrap etc., making recycling of plastics easier. This promotes the growth of circular economy and displays our sustainability commitment to both, our customers and our environment.

Applications

  • Plastic Blends
  • Recycled Plastic Thermoplastic Compounds
